Teen dies during camping trip by the river
|
BLACKSBURG, S.C. (AP) - Officials are investigating the drowning
death of a Gaffney teenager whose body was pulled from the Broad
River.
Coroner Dennis Fowler says the body of 17-year-old Anthony
Bernard Fair Junior was recovered Saturday evening near a
hydroelectric dam about 15 feet from shore.
Fair's mother told the coroner that her son was camping with
friends and didn't know how to swim.
Fowler says he is investigating how the boy got in the river.
