Ok, I know I haven’t blogged in a while but….um…the dog ate my computer, grandma got stuck in the washing machine again trying to get her cat out (had to use the jaws of life and a lot of dish soap for that one), I had temporary amnesia that left me with the inability to use the letter ‘T’! I think that’s enough excuses…..but I’ve got more if you need them. In the end, the death stares of the webmaster, and my lack of ninja skills which would have helped me to avoid those death stares, have brought me back again.
I don’t know about you, but this football season just STANK! SUCKED! ETC.
At the beginning of the year I was so hyped to get it going. The Carolina Gamecocks started off well and even made it to the top 10 in the AP. Clempson went through its usual mid-season slump and The Ohio State Buckeyes were undefeated, as usual! Then things took a dive for almost all of my favorite teams.
I don’t need to recap what happened to the Gamecocks. They were a little ahead of schedule and definitely a surprise for the first half of the season. Losing their last five and not making a bowl game was a disappointment but when the young team matures this year or next, their going to be a force to be reckoned with!
The Ohio State Buckeyes made it through the season with one loss, and played for the National Championship for the second straight year. They also lost for the second straight year! (At least this year they competed…..sort of) They had lost a lot of their offensive players from the year before and probably shouldn’t have played for the championship, but that’s the BCS for you. (All of you haters get ready….they’ll be playing for it again next year!)
And then we have the NFL! My two favorite teams, the Carolina Panthers and the Kansas City Chiefs decided they wanted high draft picks instead of winning. I know they both had an abundance of injuries…..but come on; I needed something to be happy about!! But alas, it was not to be!
The football Gods looked down on me this year and snickered! (Which is much worse than a laugh and only slightly less as annoying as ditzy girl giggles?) They know that I’ll be back next year! Football is in my blood and it gets worse with every season.
Next year…….next year!!! |
