Two convenience store robberies in Anderson county under investigation
Two nights and two shootings involving store clerks in one county. In the latest robbery, the worker dodged those shots but was beaten. Anderson County Deputies say it looks very similar to an earlier attack. The robbery and beating happened late Wednesday night at the ‘Cornerstop Store’ at the intersection of U.S. 76 and Milwee Creek Road in Sandy Spring. Deputies say two men came into the store and shot at the clerk but missed. The robbers then attacked that worker.
Investigators are looking at the Sandy Springs robbery and a crime that happened Tuesday evening in Honea Path. Police say this surveillance video shows the robbers running inside the ‘Stop-a-Minute’ store. One of them fired a shot into the ceiling then hopped over the counter and lunged at 27-year-old Jonathan Donald who was working.
Jonathan is now out of the hospital.
